Mark Eaton is one of the Penguins top defensive player. He is an all around player who has great vision of the ice. He is a great shot blocker. His career high consisted of 13 points. He has 3 points this year because of an ACL tear in his leg which happened to sideline him from the rest of the year. Mark Eaton is one of the top defenseman that anyone would love to have.

 

Sergei Gonchar is the top defenseman of the NHL. He has a rifle slap shot. He a great offensive defenseman to have on the powerplay. His top year with 67 points. That includes 18 goals and 49 assists. This year is his 3rd with the pens and  he has 53 counting with 10 goals and 43 assists. Sergei Gonchar is a great defensemen.

 

Brooks Orpik is a great pens defenseman. This is his 4th year in a penguins uniform. He has a 8 points this year. They are 1 goal and 7 assists. His career high in  points is only 10 points, but he isn't a bad defenseman though. He is a good enforcer and he blocks alot of shots. He a strong part of the Penguins team.

 

Ryan Whitney is a Penguins top defenseman. He is known for his special backdoor play with crosby. This is his 3rd year of the penguins. He has 34 points but he was out for a  couple games with a pulled groin. He has 12 goal and 22 assists. His career high is 58 points with the penguins. Whitney is an essential key to the pens power play and the whole team.
