Welcome to Los Angeles! The city itself has over 10 million people living in it. In 2005 about 24.9 million tourists came to Los Angeles. There are many things to do in LA! The city has great shopping and museums! It also has great beaches. LA is the home for the movie industry too.

 

 
 

This is the city of San Diego! It is right across the border of Mexico. It is a major metropolitan center. There are some cool things to visit in San Diego such as Balboa Park, the many museums, and the San Diego Zoo of course!

 

 
  This is San Francisco! The city suffered millions of dollars in damage caused by an earthquake in 1906. Today San Francisco is an important financial center. Cool places to visit there are the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the many museums.
 

Welcome to Long Beach! You can visit the beautiful beach or you can visit the main attraction. Queen Mary was once one of the world’s greatest cruise ships it is now permanently docked in Long Beach. Inside the ship you may visit the wheelhouse, salons, officer’s quarter, and the engine room.

 

  This is Sacramento, the state capital of California. In Sacramento, is the California State Capital Building which was built from 1860-1874. Fun places to visit are Water World, Fairytale Town, the Sacramento Zoo, and the many museums such as the Railroad Station Museum, the State Indian Museum, and the Central Pacific Museum.
 

California’s state flag was adopted in 1911. There is a grizzly bear on it which is the state animal. The state flower is the golden poppy. California’s nickname is the Golden State, it refers to the discovery of gold in 1848.
