France is a country of beauty. Paris, the capital is well-known for its georgous monutments and scenery. It is surrounded by other major towns and cities such as: La Mans, Orleans, Riems, and Beauvias. Paris is located near the north part of the country.

The Eiffel tower was built in 1889. The total weight of the whole tower is 10,100 tons. The Eiffel tower is France’s best known landmark. Standing 324m (1062.993 ft.) there are 1665 steps to the top. As of December 31, 2007 the total number of visitors was 236.445.812. every year hundreds of visitors come to see and architectural marvel. Theoretically you can see a little under 37 miles from the top. |

In reality there are rolling hills
and towers, so the human eye can not see as far. The tower cost
8,000,000 french francs, in U.S dollars that is 35,000,000 in 2006. The
tower has its legdens and some are false but no matter what people come
from all over to see the wonderful structure.

The arch was commisioned by Napoleon in 1806. it wasn't completed until 1836. The arch is the world's largest triumphal arch. it is designed with rose marble, along with the front colums and side panels.It is composed of 3 arches, 2 smaller and one larger one. The larger arch is 21 ft. high and 9 ft. wide. the smaller ones are 14 ft. and 16 in. high and 9 ft. wide. | |

| The bishop or Paris decided to build a new cathedral, due to the expanding population, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Construction began in 1163, although, it didn't end until 1345, 180 years later. Built in the age of illiteracy, the stained glass windows retell the story of the bible. This old historic structure still stands with all its beauty, 663 years later. |
