Pistol

The pistol is a non-automatic gun that has 12 shots per round. The gun was designed to use when you have ran out of ammunition with your primary gun. It is best used in medium range. Its military name is the m6g and it can be dual wielded.

Submachine Gun

The submachine, or commonly referred to as the SMG, is a fully automatic gun with 60 shots per round. It has a very high rate of fire and its military name is the M7 caseless. It is meant for medium to close range. It can be dual wielded.

Assault Rifle

The assault rifle is a fully automatic gun that you start out with in regular team slayer games. It has 32 shots per magazine. It cannot be dual wielded and is meant for medium range.

Battle Rifle

The battle rifle, or the BR, is a semi-automatic gun with 36 shots per round that is meant for medium-long range. In some special slayer games you start out with the battle rifle. You are also allowed to zoom in.

Shotgun

The shotgun is a very strong weapon but only good for up close encounters. It has 8 shots per magazine but when you reload you do one shot at a time. The military name is the M90A CAWS.

Needler

The needler is a very good weapon but only at medium range. The needles stick to your body and then explode. There are 30 shots per caddy. In halo 2 you could dual weild it but not in halo 3.

Plasma Rifle

The plasma rifle is a very good gun at medium to close range. They take down the shields very quickly but do not finish off very well. If you shoot to fast the gun overheats. There are about 420 shots per battery.

Brute Shot

The brute shot has 6 shots per round and once it bounces off a wall or person it explodes. It is meant for medium to long range.

Beam Rifle

The beam rifle is the sniper rifle for the covenant army. It is battery powered and has 18 shots per battery. If you shoot to fast the gun will overheat. Obviously the sniper is meant for long range.
