Bass guitars can be played in many ways. There are three common ways of playing. They are, slapping and popping, using a pick, and by plucking, or strumming, with the fingers. Slapping is done by slapping the string with the side of your thumb. Popping is down by pulling up on the string quickly with either your index or middle finger. Plucking is done by strumming the strings with your fingers. This is the most common way that bass players use. Some bass players also use the pick. The pick is used the same way as the fingers, by strumming. There are many other wyas to play. |
| Sound is transported by the sound waves of the strings traveling to the pickups and then through the cable to the amp. If a bass is not plugged into an amp or being played into a microphone, the sound is normal. An acoustic bass has a larger body; witch is hollowed out to make a bigger sound. Many other bass players incorporated different styles of music together. Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers was one of the first and on of the most successful bass players to incorporate funk, rock, and metal into one genre.. Other Famous bass players include, Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, and Paul McCartney. There are also many other famous bass guitar players. |
| Usually, Bass guitars have a colored finish. They can also have a clear finish on them to show the wood. Bass guitars can either have frets on the neck or no frets. They also have knobs in witch things like volume can be controlled. The Tuning pegs on a bass let you change the tuning of the strings or bring the strings back in to tune if they fall out. |
