In the Seeing Stone
Simon goes mia (missing in action) while looking for one of his numerous
pets. Jared is sure that a creature from Arthur spiderwick’s field guide
to the fantastical world around you is behind the disappearance. This
hunch leaves Mallory more than a little skeptical. However she changes
her mind when she and jared fight for their lives against a marauding
band of goblins.

In Lucinda's Secret,
Thimbletack is begging to target Jared after taking the seeing stone to
save Simon, Though Simon isn't the only one who got saved. Bryon, a
griffin, has come to stay. But after several attacks Mallory is
convinced that destroying the Field Guide is the only way to stop the
oncoming onslaught. Frankly, that doesn’t seem to be an option. The
Guide’s information seems to be the only protection against the
creatures. But the only one who might have answers about anything is
old, crazy great-aunt Lucinda.

Lately life has been
a bit hectic for the Grace household. For example, a band of goblins try
to eat Simon. Then a band of elves attempt to entrap Jared. But will
their trouble stop when the Guide mysteriously disappearance? Not
likely. For instance somebody is impersonating Jared and it is
definitely mot Simon. To make matters worse Mallory has disappeared and
someone or something is poisoning the water supply, killing plants and
animals for miles around. All clues point to the abandoned quarry with a
mine that recently has become the home of a group of dwarves. And
whispers amongst the invisible world tell of a creature with plans of
world domination, no matter what happens.

After witnessing a
gruesome slaughter of a band of dwarves and fighting their way out of an
abandoned quarry, the Grace children find little comfort at home. At
least what’s left of it. Mulgarath, in order to find the Guide and
complete his already fearsome army, has ransacked it and left only a
shell of a house and a very distressed Thimbletack. But more perplexing
is the absence of something far more precious, their mother. By banding
together with Thimbletack, Hogsqueal, and Bryon, Jared, Simon, and
Mallory must negotiate with the elves to free the one person who could
be their last hope, Arthur Spiderwick himself.
