The Polaris Outlaw 525's suspension is revolutionary.  It’s the first sport ATV to have independent rear suspension.  Independent rear suspension (IRS) is when there are two shocks in the back end suspension.  Most utility ATVs have IRS, but the Outlaw is the only sport quad with it.  All other sport ATVs have a straight axle with one shock.  The IRS offers a much smoother ride and has a much higher ground clearance, so the quad can clear more obstacles.

The Yamaha Raptor 700 has the engine with the largest displacement in the sport quad industry at 686ccs.  The Raptor has been around for a good bit, and it is still the top selling sport ATV of all time.  The Raptor is great for the sand dunes or just riding in the woods.

The Honda 450 R was the second 450 ATV to ever come out.  450s are what pros race at the tracks.  Every one of these manufacturers produce 450s, but this is about the company’s big bore sport ATVs.  The Honda is one of the most reliable ATVs, but it hasn’t had any updates in the last couple years.  It is starting to fall behind technology wise.

The Kawasaki KFX 450 is Kawasaki’s only sport quad.  The KFX 450 came out last year as a 2007 model.  The KFX 450 puts out a nice ride, but it’s not as impressive as other sport ATVs.

The Can-Am Ds 450 is new as of two years ago.  For the model this year Can-Am engineers came up with a revolutionary frame.  The new frame makes the Ds 450 the lightest 450 out there.  They also refined the engine and it is lighter and faster.

The Suzuki Ltz 450 is purely for the race track.  The designers of the Suzuki made the quad wider and lower for the track.  The wider and lower an ATV is the less chance it has of flipping over.  It also has some of the best shocks for a stock quad (stock meaning no after market parts).

The KTM 450 Xc is brand new for this year.  The 450 Xc is the first quad KTM has ever put out.  They are a big European dirt bike dealer.  The KTM was ranked the best 450 ATV by ATV Sport magazine.  The engine is said to be the best accelerating and best performing.  The suspension and chassis are the smoothest and most comfortable.  The downfall is that it cost more than a thousand dollars more than any other 450.
