Tricks

Some categories of tricks are freestyle, aerial, flip, slides, grinds, and lip tricks. Freestyle involve balancing on some other part of the board. Aerials involve balancing on some other part of the board. Aerials involve floating in the air while using a hand to hold the board on his or her feet. Flip tricks are a subset of aerials which are all based on the Ollie. Slides and grinds involve getting the board up on some edge, coping, or rail and sliding or grinding along the trucks or board.

Things to perform tricks on

Street skating is performed on any object around you. Its the act of riding a skateboard on a paved surface. Some objects are curbs, ledges, handrails, stairs, and other obstacles. Basically the environment around you outside on the street would be considered an object for performing the tricks on.

Companies

Some companies to the street skating sport are adio, baker, DGK, element, and dc. All of the companies have members who are professionals at the sport. All companies can provide you with any part to build a skateboard for the streets. Some companies also professionalize in clothing as well.

Best street skater

In my opinion the best street skater today is stevie Williams. Born December 17, 1979 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania young stevie was growing up with a poor family. The company “DGK” was founded by him based on taunts he had received by other skaters at skate parks. He took a sport that was meant for whites only and brought it to be a national-raced sport.

Origin

The origins of street skating date back to the 1960’s, but didn't become majorly noted until the 1980’s. During this time, skateboarding was dead. Vert used to be the predominant style of skating. The first street skating style contest was held in San Francisco’s golden gate park in 1983.

Future of street skating

My opinion on the future of street skating is that it will continue to rise in popularity. Street style skating is in my opinion a lot more enjoyable than vert because it’s a lot more extreme and daring. I’m not implying that this style will constantly grow in fame, but I predict that within the next 20-30 years it will be the predominant choice of skating.
