Shin guards are very important because they protect the player’s ankles and shins. Some companies that make shin guards are Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armor, and Kelme. Some shin guards have straps to hold them up. Some just slide into a sock and others just cling to the sweat on your leg.

Jerseys are also very important to a team. They are important because they differentiate one team from the other team. A team generally has two or three main colors. The main colors are often light and dark colors, similar to the Steelers colors of black or white. Each team has at least two jerseys; one jersey with one main color and the other jersey with the other opposite color.

Soccer shoes have cleats which give you grip on the pitch, which is what soccer fields are called. Players typically play on turf, hard ground, or soft ground. They make cleats for all of those different playing conditions. The hard ground means it has not rained in a while. Soft ground means it just rained, so you wear soft ground screw-ins. When it is raining, you wear metal screw-ins. Some companies that make them are Adidas, Nike, Joma, Umbro, Kelme, Lotto, Puma, Reebok, and Mizuno | ![]() |
