Where to go

Home

Make sure to pack your bags. You need all your essentials and remember to pack according to the weather. Check the weather forecast for the place you want to go, along with the surrounding areas. Next, look into the activities. You might need to take special items with you for those activities. Make sure to take any medication you take as well. Make sure to bring enough money with you. Bring things to entertain you as well, like a good book, for example. Have a list of places you want to go and visit beforehand, so know where you want to go ahead of time. If you have animals, you may or may not choose to bring the pet(s) with you. If you plan on taking your animal(s), take their favorite toys and food to calm him. If you don’t intend on taking your pet(s) with you, you can fill their food and water up and lock the house. That strategy isn’t recommended and should only be suggested if you are only to be gone for a few days.

Another option is to take your pet(s) to a friend’s/neighbor’s house and let them care for your pet during your absence. If no one you know can care for the animal, you can take the pet(s) and drop them off at a place that will care for the pet(s) or you can go to an animal shelter and claim the animal(s) after you come back.

If you don’t know exactly what to bring, don’t pack light. If you think you may need it, take it. However, keep your common sense when you do. Stuff that you know you don’t need, don’t take it.
