College Basketball

The players are what make the game so fun to watch.  Most of the time there are a few great players that make the game special and that stick out.  To the right is Tyler Hansborough who is expected to be the best player in the College Basketball.  He was voted preseason MVP which pretty much means they think he will be the best player at the end of the season.  Most of the reporters and commentators think that he will be the player of the year.

Last year there were two standout players.  One of them was Kevin Durant (left) and the other was Greg Oden (right).  Both came to there teams as freshman and proved that they were the best right from the start.  Greg Oden is a 7 foot center on Ohio State and he led the Buckeyes to the national championship.  Unfortunately, he couldn’t lead his team past Florida in the championship.  On the other hand, there was Kevin Durant, a swingman on the Texas Longhorns.  He broke a bunch of records for freshman and led the country with 25 points per game.

The Kansas Jayhawks are one of the most elite teams in the NCAA.  They also are home of some of the best players in college basketball.  Each year they get some of the best high schoolers which normally develop into some of the best college players.  To the right is star-studded Brandon Rush.  He came out of high school as one of the best players in the country and only got better.  To the left is Russel Robinson, the smallest player on Kansas.  Russel transferred from a junior college and turned into an immediate star.

To the left is Kevin Durant, now a player in the NBA.  He was selected as the number two pick in the NBA draft.  He went to the Seattle Supersonics.  Right now he isn’t playing like a rookie.  He leads his team in scoring with 22 points per game.  He has already transformed into one of the better players.  At the right is Arizona shooting forward, Chase Budinger.  He is a prolific shooter on Arizona and has quite the vertical leap.  His vertical is 42 inches and as a senior in high school he was the nations best volleyball player.  He is one of the most vertical players in college ball.

To the left is Roy Hibbert.  Roy is one of the best big men in the country.  He is a 7 foot 2 inch center on the Georgetown Hoyas.  He stayed in college for this year after deciding he wanted to stay another year instead of going to the NBA.  He has high hopes for his team and set the goal to a national championship.  He is a monster on the boards and gets tons of rebounds per game.  Roy also gets his fair share of blocks per game.  He alone could lead his team to a national championship.

Larry Bird was considered one of the best college basketball players ever.  His most memorable game was against Magic johnson in the 1979 college basketball championship game.  To the right is larry Bird in Blue and to the left of him in white is Magic johnson.  The game between the two was the highest rated game televised ever.  Larry Bird's Indiana state team went on and won the championship.

To the left is Chris Lofton of the Tennessee Volunteers.  He is known for his 3 point shooting and is said to be the best shooter in college.  Chris is also known for his ability to play clutch at the end of close games.  He has had his share of buzzer beaters and led his team to the sweet sixteen the past two years.  This year he is hoping to carry his team to a national championship.

To the right is Kyle Lowry of the Villanova Wildcats.  He played two years at the university and went straight to the NBA.  He was a late second round pick for the Memphis Grizzlies.  Kyle has improved his game and is now one of the better young point guards in the NBA. To the left is Joakim Noah of the Florida Gators.  He led his team to two national championships, back to back.  He was known for his great hustle.  Joakim is now in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls.  He was selected 9th overall.
