This is the library tower at San Diego State University. The college was founded on March 13, 1897 and started as the San Diego Normal School. In 1921 the Normal School became San Diego State Teachers College. In February 1931 the college moved to a place known as Main Quad. In 1935 San Diego State Teachers College became San Diego State College. In the early 1970s San Diego State College became San Diego State University. Today San Diego State University enrolls thousands of students each year.

It is said that San Diego has some of the world’s best beaches. San Diego has some of the best vacation spots due to its beaches. Some of the most popular beaches are Pacific Beach, Black’s Beach, Moonlight State Beach and many more.

Some tourist’ favorite Beach is Mission Beach. Mission Beach is said to be one of the most beautiful sections of Southern California. The most popular beach in San Diego is known as the Strand. It is very close to Mission Beach and draws huge crowds every summer. |

This is Balboa Park in San Diego. It is 1,400 acres big. It is located by many of the city museums, and by the San Diego Zoo. The Balboa Park contains wonderful landscaping, art galleries, museums and theaters. A Balboa Park attraction could also be the Sprekel Outdoor Organ, which San Diego claims to be the world’s largest.

The San Diego sunsets are said to be beautiful from wherever you are in San Diego. The most popular place to go to see the sunset or sunrise is one of San Diego’s beaches or on one of the sunset cliffs. |

This is the Old Globe Theatre. It was built in 1935 as a temporary entertainment attraction, but was kept because of its popularity. In 1978, the original building was destroyed by a fire, but the new Old Globe Theatre opened in 1982. |

This is one of San Diego’s cliffs. Most people go up to the cliffs to enjoy the sunset or sunrise. The cliffs were also used to overlook the ocean and the beaches. The cliffs are a great place to overlook all the sights of San Diego.

The San Diego Chargers’ first game played was on September 10, 1961. They went to the Super Bowl in 1994 for the first time. The Chargers then lost to the San Francisco 49ers. However, the Chargers made Super Bowl history by successfully completing the first 2- point conversion attempt in the Super Bowl. The Chargers have not been to the Super Bowl since then.
