History of the game and the Superbowl

 

 

The shoulder pads and jersey area traditional aspect to the game. The shoulder pads were made of leather and were din not have a facemask on it also was made of leather. The jersey was very dull and just had maybe a stripe and also had a number. Overall, these aspects of the game have obviously changed.

 
 

Helmets have grown as well as shoulder pads have. Now helmets are made of hard plastic and have hard plastic facemasks. The shoulder pads are more padded and have some plastic parts. They can also take on more hits. The helmets also have a grade A chinstrap. The game and pads have changed since the beginning of the game.

 

 
       
 

The first pro player was known as Pudge Heffinger. He played for Pittsburgh after he went to Princeton. He played any position they wanted him to. Also, Bill Osmanksi played for the Bears. He had 5 touchdowns in one game. He is absolutely unstoppable from 1938- 1947. Overall, these players were the best of the early times.

 
 

A few of the great quarterbacks of the early football years are Joe Namuth and Bart Starr. Joe Namuth had made history by signing a contract worth $427000 to the  New York Jets. He surprised everyone in super bowl 3 by beating the colts. Bart Starr was the MVP of the 1st and 2nd super bowls with the packers.

 
     
 

The super bowl was 1st played in 1969. Before that they had the national championship. The super bowl is the most publicized event in America. The prize of the game is a ring for each player and a trophy for the team. The super bowl is the best championship in sports.

 

 
 

Did you know that the Steelers are the only team to win two super bowls in a row twice. We are tied with two other teams two have 5 super bowls along with San Francisco and the Dallas Cowboys.

 

 

 

The Dolphins are only team to go undefeated in a season. They demolished teams and that out knew how to win. The running backs could not be stopped and the wide receivers couldn’t be covered. The best team in ever is the Miami Dolphins.
