This is Ty Cobb. He was born on December 18, 1886 in Narrows, Georgia.  He played for the Detroit Tigers from1905-1926 and the Philadelphia A’s from 1927-1928.  His records are highest career batting average(.366), most runs scored in a career(2246), most years(12), and most consecutive years(9) leading the league in batting average.  He won the MVP Award in 1911, the Triple Crown in 1909 and was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936, the first year there was a hall of fame.

Babe Ruth was born on February 6, 1895, in Baltimore, Maryland.  He played for the Boston Red Sox from 1914-1919 where he was a pitcher.  He then was traded to the New York Yankees where he played from 1920-1934.  This is now known as the Curse of the Bambino.  He has the record for most years leading the league in home runs(12), most runs scored in a season(177), most walks in a season(170), and career(2056), highest slugging percentage, season(.847) and career(.640).  He was the AL MVP in 1923 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1936.

Ted Williams, in my opinion, is the greatest player to ever play the game.  He was born on August 30, 1918 in San Diego California.  He played on the Red Sox from 1939-1942 and 1946-1960.  He missed almost 5 years to fight in World War 2.  If he did not miss those years, he could have hit 700 home runs, and set records for runs scored, runs batted in, and walks.  His records are highest on base percentage(.551) and career(.483).  His honors are winning the Triple Crown in 1942 and 1947.  A Triple Crown is leading the league in average, home runs, and RBIs.  He is one of 2 players to do it more than once.  He was AL MVP in 1946 and 1949, Major League Player of the Year in 1941,1942,1947,1949,1957.  He was Major League Player if the Decade in 1960 and was elected into the Hall of Fame in 1966.
