Welcome to my web page about Miracle on Ice. In the 1980 Winter Olympics a miracle happened at lake placid. The U.S. hockey team beat the Soviet national team. At the time America was in great turmoil. We were out of gas and were in an economy depression. But, the winning of the gold medal in the Olympics gave hope to people and for the first time in a while gave them a reason to chant U.S.A. with pride.
