Buzz Schneider was born on September 14, 1954 in Minnesota. He was an important player to the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team. He scored the first goal for the U.S. team to tie the Soviets 1 to 1. |

Herb Brooks was also very important to the team. He was the head coach. He tried out for the U.S. Olympic team in 1960 when they won the gold medal. But, he was the last person to be cut just before they went to the Olympics. Some people call suicides Herbies because he made his team do them after they tied the Norwegian team until after the rink shut down. |

Jim Craig was born on May 31, 1957 in Massachusetts. He was the goalie for the 1980 U.S. team. During the season he was going through some tough times with his family. His mother died and his father was depressed. After the win against the Soviets the first thing he did was look up into the stands for his father. After the Olympics Craig went to the NHL and only played 36 games. |

Rob McClanahan played forward for the team. He went to college at Minnesota University. He scored the game winning goal to come back and beat Finland in the gold medal game. |

Mike Eruzione was the leader and captain of the U.S. team. He scored the game winning goal to beat the Soviets 4 to 3 in the last 8 minuets of the exiting game. He led his team to do some amazing things in the Olympics. His goal in the game against the Soviets might have changed the whole world. |

Neil Broten was a solid player for the young U.S. team. He is considered one of the most accomplished Minnesota hockey players ever. He is also the only person to ever win the NCAA championship, Olympic gold medal, and Stanley cup.
