Fall Out boy commonly abbreviated FOB is a punk rock band. The band consists of Patrick Stump (lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary composer.) Pete Wentz (bassist, backup vocals, and primary lyricist.) Joe Trohman (guitarist) and Andy Hurley (drummer). The band was founded in 2001 by Pete and Joe. They decided they wanted to start a band more like Green Day and the Smiths. |

The band first had two other members but they soon left. In 2002 the group released a mini-LP, Fall Out Boys Evening out with your girlfriend. The band didn’t have a name for the first two shows. They decided to ask the audience for names. One audience member yelled out Fall Out Boy. The name referred to the side kick of one of the Simpson characters Radioactive man. And the new name stuck. |

Pete’s bands first video Dead On Arrival was shot at the knights of Columbus hall in Illinois. Then on May 6, 2003 the released thre full length album Take This to Your Grave. There two hit songs from the CD “ Grand Theft Autum/ Where is your boy?” and “Saturday”videos and time" But that only happend after the success of there second album take this to your grave.

On May 2, 2007 Fall Out Boy released their second album From Under The Cork Tree. The album went double platinum and sold over 2.5 million copies. Earlier that year Pete overdosed on Ativan in a failed suicide attempt. The Track "Seven Minutes in Heaven (Ativan Halen) from their second album referrers to Pete's incident. Pete wrote the song about the experience top help him cope. |

Their first single "Sugar We're going Down" peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. Pete wrote that song with his Dad in Chicago. The band was nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 2006 Grammy Awards. The music video won an award at the 2005 MTV Music Video Awards. "Dance, Dance" also was a Top 10 single and peaked number 9 on the Hott 100 Chart. |

Fall Out Boy headlined the Nintendo Fusion Tour in the fall of 2005. Also on the starting line Motion City SoundTrack, Boys Night Out, and Panic! at the Disco on a 31 city tour. They also headlined on the Black Clouds and Under Dogs Tour. Pete also said that he loves going on tour with his band, he says it is fun to hang with his friends and the other bands and playing shows. |

The band music style is more pop punk rock and sometimes considered emo. The music is also considered hardcore punk. That is mostly what there latest album Infinity on High is. There music also has vast range of styles and instruments. A central part of the music style is Pete Wentz. Pete writes all the lyrics. Pete uses irony and other literary meanings to narrate personal experiences and stories. The music videos also deal with Wentz's personal problems. |
| Fall Out Boy are supporters of Invisible Children's inc. Pete has also participated in Invisible Children's Displace me Champaign. The band has also performed for an organization the American Leg of live Earth on July 2, 2007. Although Andy Hurly is vegan and has done promotions for PETA. the band is being criticized from animal rigths groups for their use of monkeys in one of their videos. But Pete still brought a chimpanzee to the Kerrang! awards and a money to the 2006 MTV Music Awards. |
