Labradors range in size and weight. Labrador retriever males that are full grown usually are 22 ½ to 24 ½ inches long. They also usually weigh around 65-85 pounds. Females Usually are around 21 ½ to 22 ½ inches long. For a normal sized female Labrador Retriever.

 

Labrador retrievers vary in colors. There are 3 main colors to the Labrador Retriever. Labrador Retrievers are usually some form of white, brown, and black. Labradors also have brown eyes, just like golden retrievers. Their tongues are usually around a pinkish color.

 

Training Labradors are not very difficult. It is similar to training to any other puppy. Some useful correction words are no, stop, or bad.  Also, some praise words are good, or yay. It is a good idea to crate train them. Crate training is whenever a dog sleeps in the crate. Some useful tricks to teach your Labrador retriever are stand, sit, or rollover. Other words a dog should know are treat, supper, hungry, and bathroom. House-breaking usually takes 2-3 months if a dog is an infant. 

 

Labrador Retrievers are supposed to be efficient retrievers on land and water. Labradors usually retrieve animals after they have been shot. Labradors have been used for decades for hunting and are still used today. Labradors have a love for the water. Labrador Retrievers have been used for wildfowling or wildfowl hunting. They are used for water in several ways in many different countries.

 

Labrador Retrievers are very gentle. One or their jobs is even a seeing eye dog. Labradors usually get the CGC or Canine Good Citizen Award because of their gentleness from the American Kennel Club. They just have to present good manners. Labradors also make good therapy dogs. People in the hospital love seeing dogs while they are there. They brighten the day of those who feel sad or alone.
