Small dogs are used for a lot of different things. For example they're used for hunting, the circus, and their used for advertisement.

Some small dogs are used for hunting. Mostly all dogs have a great sense of smell and great hearing. The most common small dog used for hunting is the Basset Hound. The Basset Hound has an amazing sense of hearing. Part of what helps it hear so well is its big ears.

Small dogs are also used for the circus. Usually people don't think of dogs when they go to the circus, but they are used for it. Small dogs are used to jump threw hoops, balance objects, and ride on the back of a horse or elephant. You can't use large dogs for this because they're too heavy. Sometimes the people in the circus balance dogs on their hands.

Advertisement is another thing that some small dogs do. A lot of people have seen the taco bell dog. They aren't only used for icons though , they're in movies too. Movies like Legally Blonde and Lady and the Tramp.

Small Dogs aren't used in sports like large dogs because they are too small. Smaller dogs can't build as much muscle power. They're better for things like the circus because since they're so small they have enough strength to balance themselves. You don't need much strength to hunt. Small dogs just need good hearing and sense of smell.
