Yes, there are some bad things about gaming as well. There are many rumors as well and I will tell you the fact from fiction.  The reasons people think video games are bad are mostly hype, but there are other things not mentioned.

The main bad thing: inappropriate content. yes it seems that lately developers are including content that the raters cant find, so it gets a teen rating instead of mature or adult only. The inappropriate content can be just plain rude. There is a rating system to help prevent this but most people never notice this.

Another bad thing, most videogames are made to be played over and over and can take lots of time, though that can be stopped just by telling him/her to turn it off. Games are addicting to some people, believe me I know. But there is  no reason you cant just shut it off.

The online world can be very dangerous. When a game says game experience may change during online play, believe it. There are tons of adults playing most games and they use adult language and other adult references. Even besides that, people will do mean things like cheat, insult you, or jus be so fantastically good that you can’t do anything about it.

There are some disturbing people out there, and sharing information to people who ill use it in a bad way sometimes happens even by accident. People will try to pass themselves off as anything and will make it so you can't believe anything anyone says unless you physically know them.
