The Deck The deck is the board itself. Some are made of wood and others are made of fiberglass. It is the most expensive part of the board. It is also the weakest part too. If you don’t land on it right, each foot above each one of the trucks, it will get weaker and will break.

The Wheels The wheels are made of either rubber or plastic. They are bolted to the trucks with bearings. The weight of the wheels can change how the board performs. A good weight for the wheels is in between 50mm to 55mm. the harder they are, the harder the landing.

The Hardware The hardware is the nuts and bolts that hold the trucks to the board. The size of them will vary by how big the trucks are and if you have riser pads. Riser pads are pads made of rubber or plastic that can soften landing. A normal size would be about 1inch. They come in different colors or you can just paint them.

The Grip Tape The grip tape is the sandpapery top part of the board. You can pile it off to change it when it files down and loses its grip. It gives the board a bit of a grip to your shoes, so you can stay on. You can get grip tape in many different colors, or just spray paint it a color or a design on it.
