The courts for indoor volleyball are different. There is a gym floor which is wooden and also a synthetic surface. The surface in which the game is played on must be flat. The court is measured 18 m by 9 m. there is a free zone and that is 2 m. a mesh net is 1 m deep and 9.5 m long. The antenna on the net is 30 ft from the bottom to the top of the net.

          The game volleyball is played with a round leather ball. The ball is white and the circumference is 65-67m, 260-280g of weight. All players must wear the same uniforms. The t-shirts are the same. Spandex can also be worn. Knee pads protect your knees from getting hurt. Active ankles for the same but for your ankles. Volleyball shoes are very helpful be cause they have grips and don’t make you slip. Before you play you must stretch.

On court there are only 6 players. Teams normally have between 9-12 players. There is one captain. There is also a floor captain who will talk to the ref. if they don’t agree with the play. There are three players in the front and three in the back. The ball can only be hit three times on a side.

There are faults in the game as well. If the ball touches the ground on your side it is not your point. If you hit the ball 2 times in a row its the others ball. The players must stay on there court if they enter the opponent side it is a fault. You must know the rotation. If you get out of rotation that is a fault. If your body touches any part of the net or antennae it is the opponents point.

Some rules are if the player serves out of order then it is the opponents point and serve. If the server throws the ball up and lets it drop that is ok but you can only do that once per serve. Players can hit the ball anywhere on the court. If you are back row you can only jump behind the ten foot line. The score for games go to 25 for the 1^st and 2^nd game. If there is a 3^rd game the score goes to 15. Some games are best of 3 or 5. Subs can be made throughout the game. You only have 18 times to sub.
