Ty Law Loved to make big plays. Fans came to expect a bone jarring tackle or spectacular interception with the game on the line. Like in Super Bowl 36 he returned  an interception for a touchdown.

When Willie McGinest rushed the quarterback, it almost always took two people to stop him. He exploded off the line and often ran completely around the man blocking him. McGinest made the New England defense one of the NFL's most feared.

Rodney Harrison is the New England Patriots strong-safety. He has been playing for 13 years and considered the heat of the D. 

The Patriots built a championship defense led by Tedy Bruschi, a great tackler who always who always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.  Fans were shocked when he suffered a stroke after the 2004 season, then amazed when he returned to the lineup in 2005.

Asante played quarter-back, Defensive-back, and kicker in high school. He signed with the Patriots in the 2003 NFL draft. SO far he has over 300 tackles and 16 interceptions.
