Softball

Softball is played on a field. The field consists of an infield diamond and outfield territory. The outfield may or may not be fenced. If you fence it, there’s a recommended distance, but it doesn’t really matter.
There are four bases in the infield. They should be marked sixty feet in between every base. The pitching distance in high school level and lower levels is forty feet. Forty-three feet is the distance for college level.
The objective in the playing field is to get the lead runner out. If there is a runner on third, then you might want to get the runner at first out and then throw the ball home to get the girl that was on third out. The runner can also steal. It is mainly the shortstops job to cover the base the runner is stealing to. If there is a runner on third and the base runner is running home, then it is the pitcher's job to cover home.
The in-field positions are catcher, pitcher, first base, second base, shortstop, and third base. The outfield positions are left field, center field, and right field. If there is a ground ball or steal then the in-field will cover one of the bases. The outfields job is mainly to back up the throws thrown to every base.
