On August 4, 2004 Ben Roethlisberger signed his contract for 6 years with the Steelers.  In his rookie year they had a 15-1 record losing only in the AFC Championship. He also had the highest passer rating and highest completion percentage.  The very next year he lead his team to a Super Bowl win against the Seattle Seahawks. Now he is on his fourth season and is likely to have a good season this year.

 

Hines Ward was a third found draft pick in 1998 for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He has three  team MVP awards.  He was a Pro Bowl selection and starter from 2001 to 2004.  He also has four consecutive 1000 yard seasons.  In the '05 season Hines Ward became the Steelers all-time receiver with his 538th catch.  Now he has one Super Bowl  ring and is a Super Bowl MVP. 

 

Willie Parker was signed as a free agent in 2004. He spent most of his rookie year on the sideline. The next season was different.  He started 15 out of 16 games.  "Fast Willie" lead his team to the Super Bowl.  In Super Bowl XL he had the longest run in Super Bowl history.  He ran for 75 yards to break the record.

 

From 2001 to 2004 Cedrick Wilson was a punt returner for the San Francisco 49er's.  In 2005 he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He became a go to guy on the road to Forty.  Receiving only 26 passes for 461 yards he helped guide his team toward the playoffs.  In the playoffs he caught 9 passes for 216 yards.

 

Troy Polamalu was drafted 16th overall in the 2003 NFL draft.  He was the first safety ever to be drafted in the first round by the Steelers.  Troy Polamalu is currently in his fourth season and is considered on of the most cerebral players in the NFL.  His first Super Bowl appearance was in 2005 for Super Bowl Forty.  They ended with a win 21-10 over Seattle.   

 

From 1997 to 2001 James Farrior  played for the New York Jets.  In week 3 of the 2005 season he had 15 tackles and one sack, his career high.  In Super Bowl Forty he recorded six tackles.

 

Ike Taylor was drafted in 2003 by the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He had a key interception in the AFC Championship game to end up in a touchdown. His completion percentage is only 53% and is usually lined up against the best wide receiver.
