Horses and ponies

The western or roping saddle was brought over by the American conquistadors. It's used to support the rider in fast terms of maneuvering.
The English or riding saddle is used for comfortable riding. It is slightly smaller and lighter than the western saddle. It sits higher on the horse or pony. With western it sits lower so the rider stays in the saddle.
The racing saddle is the smallest saddle. It is also lighter so all the horses carry the same amount of weight and isn't weighed down.
The side saddle is the weirdest looking saddle. In the past it was "unladylike" to ride asride. Most women today ride English or western. But some women like to ride side saddle because of the challenge.
Harness racing usually uses Standerdberd horses. The horse has to trot. If it canters or gallops, the horse would be disqualified because the cart could tip over and the jockey could get hurt. The carts aren't built for going full speed.
The pulling harness is used to pull heavy loads. Like bricks, logs, and other heavy stuff. It pulls carts, coaches, and wagons.
The plowing harness is used for plowing fields. Shires, Clydesdales, and other heavy draft horses are used to pull plows. Because they are big and strong.
