Just a few hours off the coast of California, people come to see Hawaii’s beautiful landscape. Canoe-ing, deep-sea fishing and scuba diving are what make the island of O’ahu such a tourist attraction. The word "O'ahu" means "gathering place" in Hawaiian. The island's density is about 1,500 people per square kilometer, even high than the density of Japan.

Makapuu Beach is  considered on the the world's best surfing spots. Pearl Harbor, one of the finest naval bases in the world, and Schofield Barracks, now of the. Honolulu is also the biggest city on the island of O'ahu, with a population of over 365,000 people.

"Maui" is named for the legend that  tells that Maui, a demigod, was fished up on the Hawaiian islands by sea. Another says that Maui was captured in the crater of Haleakala for stealing the sun.

The coastline of Maui, the second largest of the Hawaiian islands is said to be one of the most spectacular sights. Lahaina, capital of the old kings was one of the whaling capitals of the world. Lahainaluna High School was the first high school ever built west of the Rocky Mountains. One of the world's strangest volcano formations is Maui's own Iao Needle range at 2,250 feet high. Visitors can visit places like Haleakala crater, the world's largest extinct crater, and horseback ride.
