Modeling is a job/career wanted by woman and men everywhere. From photo shoots to runways the modeling job is always demanding new styles in faces and attitudes. Firing often but always hiring. Some people can get the job with no problem. Others must try over and over again to get at least get one yes by the agent interviewing them. But with 5’ 7’’ being short for a model eliminates a lot of competitors. |

Models can walk on the runway, have a photo shoot, or been in a commercial. A photo shoot can take from a couple hours to a few days. They make on average $20 an hour for a beginner or for someone who only wants it as a small job for the time. Others who have it as a career can make millions. Higher models make $250 an hour, over $20,000 per photo shoot, and depending on the popularity of the runway show a model can make more than $50,000 in less than a half n’ hour. Whether it’s enjoyable or painful they must act according to the way they are told. Such as wearing a skirt or bathing suit in freezing conditions. Usually strange shots are used for advertisements. Normally models are at least 6’ tall some are shorter but usually not very popular choices for agencies. Some photo shoots are across the world. Commercials are also a role in a model’s career. They can advertise items and may be just doing a small interview if they were famous enough. A lot of models came famous from a popular T.V. show called, “America’s Next Top Model”. Produced by Tyra Banks, a very successful model, actress, and talk show host. Some well known items advertised are Cover Girl, Victoria’s Secret, Neutrogena, and many others. These are only advertised by the most famous models. |

T.V., photo shoots, and now runways. A runway looks simple. But it is far from it. Many experience a lot of pain walking because some are told to walk in shoes two sizes smaller than their actual shoe size. They are told to walk quickly and to get dressed into their next ensembles for the next walkout on the runway. Behind the runway people are yelling, running around, people trying to help the models get their clothing on. Yet once on the runway must look as perfect as possible. Some people think that modeling is simple. Thinking that anyone can just walk down the runway and take a picture, which is not true. Along with traveling from country to country, and being interviewed by all types of modeling agencies, they must learn to adapt to the cultures and languages. Almost no free time for him/her only to be racing to each interview or shoot, a model must be dedicated to their career. Modeling may seem simple but with the hard work you must put in modeling is far from easy. |
