Disneyland Park is a great place to go if it's a nice day in California. Disneyland is really cool because it's separated into 8 different lands: Adventureland, New Orleans Square, Frontierland, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Mickey's Toontown, Main Street USA, and Tomorrowland. Each of the lands have it's own theme and is really special in it's own way. Some lands are for younger people and some lands are for teens and adults. All of them are fun to go to no matter how old you are!

Adventureland

Adventureland is a great place to go if you're in search of a great adventure. It's pretty dark because it's covered by palm trees, tiki heads and jungle things. The theme of Adventureland is the jungle because a lot of adventures happened in that jungle. A few rides are in Adventureland like Indiana Jones, Jungle Cruise, Tarzan's Treehouse and Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. The Jungle Cruise is a water ride that is on a small little lake on a 1950s boat. You'll see elephants, fish, zebras, lions and birds, but they're all fake. In the line on the Indiana Jones ride you'll see the theme of a temple that has just been found and you are some of the first people in the temple. When you get on the ride you're actually getting on a jungle jeep. It's really big but the ride is so fun. During the ride you'll see shrunken heads, big bugs and a huge snake.

New Orleans Square

New Orleans Square is themed like a 50's jazz land. It's really cool and there are four rides: The Haunted Mansion, Disneyland Railroad, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Disney Gallery. Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark water ride and the movies are based of the ride that Walt Disney created. In the beginning of the ride you'll see a skull and crossbones that give you a warning and then you go down a little water hill. It takes you through a town that is run by pirates in the 1700s. In the town you'll see singing pirates, water battles and caves. At one point in the ride you'll be out of the Disneyland boundaries because you're underwater. Another great ride to go on is the Haunted Mansion. The whole theme of the ride is a spooky, creepy mansion that is abandoned… unless you count the ghosts! In the ride you'll see many ghosts, a graveyard, a huge dining room, a scary elevator and a lot of scary paintings. When you get off the ride you'll see a doll and it says, "Hurry back, hurry back!"

Frontierland is themed back in the 1600s and is themed to be very old. There is a Pirate's Lair at Tom Sawyer Island, Mark Twain Riverboat, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Fantasmic are all things to do in Frontierland. On Tom Sawyer Island you can explore around in caves and see a lot of pirates. Hold your stuff close because pirates love to steal things. On the Mark Twain Riverboat you go around Tom Sawyer Island, see fake Indians and old trains. On the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad you can see the island and be on the ride at the same time. It's a high speed roller coaster that you go threw collapsing rocks and caves.

Critter Country isn't really big, but it's just as fun as the other lands. It only has two rides that are Winnie the Pooh and Splash Mountain. On Splash Mountain you get very wet and it tells you the story of a bunny going through the woods and it's journey. On Winnie the Pooh's ride you go on a dark ride in a honey pot and it makes you very dizzy.

Fantasyland is one of the 8 lands in Disneyland. It's more for younger kids, but it's fun for the whole family. There are a lot of rides in Fantasyland: Alice in Wonderland, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Dumbo, It's A Small World, King Arthur Carousel, Mad Tea Party, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Mr. Toad's Wild ride, Peter Pan's Flight, Pinocchio, Snow White and Storybook Land Boats. Alice in Wonderland is dark ride and next to it is the Mad Tea Party. It spins around and makes you dizzy while you're in a tea cup. It's a Small World is a dark ride that has little dolls from all over the world singing. It's 14 minutes long and they sing the same song over and over again. The Matterhorn Bobsleds is a roller coaster on a mountain. It goes up to 27mph, goes up to 147 feet and opened on July 14, 1959. If you look closely at the top of the mountain you'll see to mountain climbers.

Mickey's Toontown opened on January 24, 1993.  It is more for younger kids and has rides.  Chip n' Dale's Treehouse, Disney Railroad, Donald's Boat, Gadget's Go-Coaster, Goofy's Playhouse, Mickey's House, Minnie's House, Daisy's House, and Roger Rabbits CarToon Spin.  Gadget's Go-Coaster is a small rollercoaster that is based on Gadget Hackwrench from Chip n' Dale Rescue Ranger show.  The ride only lasts 0:44 seconds and goes 21.7 miles per hour. Another ride is Roger Rabbit's CarToon Spin, a dark ride that is based on the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?".  You ride in a cab that is "in" the movie.

Main Street, USA is one of the first things that you see when you walk into Disneyland.  In this land you will see a firehouse, horses, Model T cars, old stores and Sleeping Beauty's Castle.  Main Street, USA is based on a 1920's small town.  On Main Street you'll see the Main Street Cinema, Disneyland's First 50 Magical Years and the Disneyland Railroad.  The railroad is on a continuous loop of the park.  DRR was inspired by Walt Disney's love for trains and his live steam backyard Carolwood Pacific Railroad. When you're on the train you can see the "Grand Canyon" and "dinosaurs".  The train goes 1.5 miles and stops in Frontierland, Mickey's Toontown and Tomorrowland. 

Tomorrowland is a land that is based on the future. Walt Disney was known for his futuristic views and showed the American public through his TV shows how the world was moving into the future and Tomorrowland was the realistic culmination of his views.  There are many futuristic rides: Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, Autotopia, Buzz Lightyear AstroBlasters, Disney Monorail, Disneyland Railroad, Finding Nemo Submarine, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Innoventions, Starcave and Star Tours. In late 2003, Matt Ovimet became President of Disneyland and decided to change Tomorrowland and Space Mountain was closed for two full years. Autopia is a ride that you drive futuristic cars.  The length of the ride is 4:32 minutes, goes up to 6.5 mph and the track length is 2,568 feet.  Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters is a dark ride that you shoot at targets.  Disneyland Monorail System transports people to Tomorrowland and the Disneyland Resort.  It's 2.5 miles long and began to operate on June 14, 1959 and is a straddle-beam monorail.  Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is a new submarine ride located under the Disneyland Monorail/Tomorrowland Station. You go underwater, swim along with Nemo and his friends to see a volcano. You also see ancient ruins of Atlantis, a coral reef, the Eastern Austrailian current, a graveyard of ships, mine fields, The Abyss, a school of jellyfish, a blue whale encounter, a hidden sea serpent, a mermaid and a harbor scene with fighting crabs.  Space Mountain is a dark, indoor rollercoaster.  It's 2:45 minutes, 3,033 feet long and the highest drop is 128 feet and the maximum speed is 32mph. This ride also takes your picture while you are soaring in the dark.
