In Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Anakin is rescued from slavery
by Obi-Wan’s mentor, Qui-Gon Jinn. Forced to leave his mother behind, he
goes with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon to the planet Corescaunt, where he is
tested by Yoda. After being denied formal Jedi training, Anakin goes to
Naboo to help Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in protecting Queen Amidala, where he
unknowingly helps to save the planet. Unfortunately, Qui-Gon is killed
in a battle with the evil Darth Maul.

In Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Obi-Wan has taken Anakin as
his apprentice, and they are once again needed to help in protecting
Padme Amidala. However, in an attempt to capture the bounty hunter
trying to kill Padme, Obi-Wan is captured by the evil Count Dooku.
Anakin and Padme come to his rescue, but they are captured as well. In
the battle with Dooku that follows, Anakin loses his right arm (can we
hear an ick?), and is given a prosthetic one in its place. At the
end of the film, Anakin and Padme are married in secret, for love is
forbidden to a Jedi. Then again, Anakin has never been one to follow
rules…

In
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Anakin and Obi-Wan are on a
mission to recue the captured Republic leader, Chancellor Palpatine from
Count Dooku. Dooku is killed by Anakin, and the two manage to land the
ship safely, if not very easily. Shortly after this, Anakin is granted a
position on the Jedi Council. He is not, however, granted the rank of
Master. Soon after this series of events, Palpatine reveals that he is
actually the feared Sith Lord Darth Sidious, and tricks Anakin into
becoming evil. Twisted by the Dark Side, Anakin and Obi-Wan duel in an
epic battle. The movie ends with the birth of twins Luke and Leia,
Anakin’s children.

In
Episode IV: A New Hope, Anakin’s son Luke discovers that his father
was a Jedi. He also learns that Leia is held captive. Leaving his home
behind, he goes to Alderaan with Obi-Wan to rescue Leia. Held by Vader
on the dangerous Death Star, Luke is aided by the mercenary pilot Han
Solo, the Wookiee Chewbacca, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. He does not
know, however, that his father is the one who put C-3PO together, or
that R2-D2 often helped Anakin on his adventures. After Luke rescues
Leia, Obi-Wan faces Darth Vader, and is killed by the Sith Lord. After
their escape, Luke and Han help in the destruction of the Death Star.

is betrayed by his friend Lando Calrissian and is trapped in a material
called carbonite. In order to rescue his friends, Luke goed to Bespin
and confronts Darth Vader. In the battle that follows, Vader tells Luke
that he is his father. Luke’s hand is cut off in the battle, and he is
