This stunt is called an Elevator. There are 4 people needed in order to accomplish this stunt. The 2 bases are facing each other in a prep. The back spotter holds the waist of the flyer. The flyer puts their hands on the bases shoulders and then back spotter calls the counts. The flyer jumps into the hands of the bases and the bases bring her feet up to their chest. The back spotter holds the ankles.

This stunt is called a Liberty Hitch. The back spotter says the counts and the flyer lifts one leg so that the inside of that leg’s foot is even with her other legs knee. Point the foot you are lifting up to the other knee. Put your arms into a high V.

This is an extremely easy stunt. This needs to use 3 cheerleaders. The 2 bases lunge toward each other. Make sure your hips are turned to the front. The flyer steps onto the bases thighs and does a hand motion. The bases arms are wrapped tightly around the flyers legs.

The two bases should start facing each other and the flyer in between them facing forward. The back spotter should stand behind the flyer. While the bases are in a prep the back spotter should hold onto the flyers waist. The flyer should have their hands on the bases shoulders. Then she hops up into the bases hands that should have a firm grip on the feet. The bases extend their arms above their head and the back spotter should support the bases wrists.

Stunts involving 3 or more people are known as mounts or pyramids. There are different combinations of stunts you can put together to form a routine. You can form an ending pose with stunts. Or even combine an elevator and extension.

A scorpion is kind of like a liberty only side ways and the flyer has to grab her toe while reaching over her head with both arms. The prep is like a regular one (only sideways). This can be preformed with 2 people. A base and a flyer. Male cheerleaders are in demand because co-ed squads have greater stunting power.

This stunt is called a heel stretch. This is a very difficult stunt and you need to be very flexible. The prep is just like the liberty hitch. Only instead of hitching the flyer will be taking her foot all the way up to her head and staying pin straight in a high V.
|
|
|
There are extension liberty hitches. Instead of just keeping her foot at eye level the bases will extend their arms as well as the back spotter to support her weight. Stunts can be used to make up a formation in a dance, pose, cheer, or anything really. Just make sure you have a trainer before you try these stunts.

Over the years the stunts have became more extreme. From doing a cradle to throwing people 20 feet into the air. College stunts are extremely risky but they are highly trained. Stunts have evolved over time. There is some where they do a back walk over on peoples backs that are already 10 feet in the air.

Bow-n-Arrow is similar to the Heel Stretch except that your opposite hand grips your stretched leg, and your other arm is brought in front of your leg in a T motion. Make sure your back is flat and your body is tight.
