PNC Park opened March 31, 2001, and is located on the North Shore of the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh. The maximum capacity of PNC Park is 38,365 people and is used for only baseball. Compared to the number of seats in Forbes Field, PNC Park holds about 14,000 more people. The first regular season game at PNC Park was played on April 9, 2001.

Jack Wilson is currently the short stop for the Pirates. Jacks average is .273, he has 8 homeruns, 35 RBI’s, and 4 stolen bases in the 2006 regular season.

 

 

 

Jose Castillo is currently the second basemen for the Pirates. Castillo has a career average of .262. He  hit 27 homeruns, 124 RBI’s, and has played in 286 games.

 

 

 

Ryan Doumit is the catcher for the Pirates. He has a batting average of .255 with 8 homeruns and 42 runs batted in.

 

 

 

 

Zach Duke is the pitcher for the Pirates. He pitched a total of 300 innings in the 2006 regular season. He also had 175 strikeouts.
