Role-playing games allow you to take control of a single player and play through the game. Unlike RTS games where each unit has a specific job your avatar is like a super unit that can take on multiple roles. For example with the right equipment you could be a melee unit or change to a ranged unit. RPGs come in third and first person styles. The RPG is one of the most common game types.

Halo is one of the most famous RPGs out to day. Halo has you take control of master chief, a marine that is sent to battle on alien worlds. Halo is a first person game which means you play through the eyes of your character. You have full control of your character which means you can jump, dodge and do other functions as well to keep out of harms way. Halo proves to be one of the best RPGs out to date.

Elder Scrolls is another RPG. Unlike the futuristic worlds of Halo Elder Scrolls goes back to a mythological medieval period. Like all RPGs you create a character and go off to quest and adventure. You level through fighting and questing and eventually become a mighty warrior. The game offers many mystical places for you to explore and fight and is all together is a great game.

Hour of Victory is an RPG that takes you back to world war 2. You battle through the country hiding from and engaging enemy troops. You will also be sent into enemy controlled villages. Stealing vehicles is very useful in tight situations. Multiplayer adds some excitement to the game, allowing you to test your skills on other players.
Medal of honor Airborne is another widely popular WWII RPG. Like other RPGs this is a first person camera angle. An interesting fact about  this game is that  the missions are based on real missions from WWII. For example Operation Husky kick started the Italian campaign. Although the game isn't released to the public yet it looks to be a promissing game.
Last but certainly not least is World of Warcraft.. this massive online multiplayer RPG has so much to offer I can't fit it in one paragraph. Choose from 2 sides (the Alliance or the Horde), 10 races (the Tauren, Bloodelves, Undead, Orcs, Trolls, Night elves, Humans, Gnomes, Dwarves, and Dranie), 9 classes (Druids, Mages, Priests, Warlocks, Hunters, Paladins, Shaman, Warriors, and Rogues) , and 13 professions ( leather working, blacksmithing, engineering, cooking, fishing, first aid, enchanting, tailoring, skining, mining, alchemy and herbalism). Customize your character and go explore not 1 or 2 but 3 continents. Get to the max level of 70 and wage war with the opposing faction.
