Mark-Andre Fluery is the most important part of the defense. He is the starting goalie. He is 6ft. 2in. he is also 22 years old. He weighs 176 pounds. He is one of the best goalies in the league. He is a very flexible player. He usually has good games but every once in a while he has a bad one. He is getting better very gradually. That is why his nick name is “The flower”.

The Penguins defense has been very good. Also the defense has been pretty bad. The last couple games the penguins have had, the defense have been to lose and the other teams have converted on the defensive mistakes.

| When Mark Eaton came back from his injury, the defense stepped up their game and kept the other teams from scoring. Although after his comeback they then started to loosen up and give the teams they wee playing more room to work the puck and score. |  |

Although on the penalty kill the Penguins have been very good at keeping the puck out of their defensive end. They have been actually doing extremely well in the last couple games. Against the New York Rangers, In the third period, The penguins converted/ scored two short handed goals to bring them back in to the game and have a chance. The y later won in a shootout.
