Titanic started boarding its passengers on Wednesday, April 10, 1912. The passengers boarded in Southampton for their voyage to New York. Sadly, their journey soon ended only 5 days later on April 15, 1912 at 2:30 am. Many souls wanting to go to America for a better life never got a chance and ended up with a worst one.

Titanic was divided into three classes. The third class was limited to a lot of things because they were the poor class. The second class was not limited to much because they were the middle class, the class between wealthy and poor. The first class was the wealthy class and had more luxuries than imaginable. The first class had the first swimming pool ever seen on an ocean liner and a gym. The first class also had the very famous Grand Staircase.

The first iceberg warning that Titanic received was through the wireless operator on board Titanic. Then two more warnings were received from other ships. And later that day, around 7:30 they received 3 more messages of an iceberg being 50 miles ahead.  By the end of the night Titanic had received a total of 7 iceberg warnings. At 11:40 pm one of the watchers in the crows nest had spotted an iceberg and called the duty officer screaming, “Iceberg right ahead!”

The officer ordered that the wheel be turned to the right. Apparently it did not turn quick enough and it scraped on the bottom of the ship. Ice landed on the deck of the ship. The ship started to fill up starting at the bow. It filled compartment by compartment and the ship started to sink deeper and deeper. There was not enough life boats to fit all the passengers. So some was left on the ship to die a sad death.

The ship sunk and many people were left floating in the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean. They would grab anything to keep afloat. People were floating on dressers and doors and anything in site that would keep them alive a few seconds more. Many died from the freezing cold water but others died from not being able to swim.
