Beach volleyball is played with two people. This makes it harder for the two players to cover the court. Therefore, the two players really need to communicate well with each other. They also need to know what the other teammate is capable of doing. Therefore, if you are in a situation where there is a hard spike split in between the both of you, if you know your partner is a better at digging they can call you off and get to the ball. Those are some important skills to have when playing beach volleyball.

       It is much harder to play on the sand court than a regular gym court. You use more muscles and energy when playing in the sand. The reason why you use more muscle and energy is that the sand is harder to run and jump in. It is harder to grip the sand when moving around. In order to last the whole game the players need to train and practice hard on the sand court.

When playing beach volleyball you normally tend to dive for things you normally wouldn’t dive for on a regular gym court. That is because, the sand is like a cushion. Therefore, when you fall you don’t get that hurt. Unlike the court, when you fall you normally get bruises and scrapes.

Players that play beach volleyball often wear swim wear while playing. Players also tend to wear sunglasses and hats to shade the sun out of their eyes. The games for beach volleyball are normally played in the morning and in the afternoon because that is when the sun is out. This is when then sun is at its brightest. Therefore it is more of a challenge to play.

The ball is used for beach volleyball is slightly different than the ball used for indoor ball. The beach volleyball is a little bit heavier. The reason for that is, since they play volleyball outside they have no control over the weather. Since the ball is heavier, when it is windy the ball doesn’t get picked up by the wind as much.
