Dogs

There are nearly 160 million dogs in the world today. For thousands of years, dogs have kept humans company with single-mined loyalty.  They have contributed to our benefit in the most of far- reaching ways: rescuing drowning people, hauling supplies across polar ice-fields, pulling in fishermen’s nets, herding sheep and cattle, protecting homes from intruders, and the list continues. They act as our eyes, our ears, our police, our playmates, and even out confidence. Dogs are members of the order “Carnivore”, a group of mammals with origins in the tertiary area, about 55 million years ago. It was known that dogs were once wolves, but over time, the characteristics and traits have changed. The dog is most known as, “A man’s best friend”.
