Invader Zim!!!

Another one of Jhonens creations is Invader Zim. It’s a TV show about an idiotic green alien coming to Earth to invade it. But, it turns out that it’s not so easy. Especially since he has a hyperactive and distracted robot slave, a classmate who knows about his alien origins, and his classmates’ spooky younger sister interfering.

Zim!

Zim is a short and foolish Irken. He destroyed half of his home planet by accident in Operation Impending Doom 1. His leaders, (the almighty Tallest) Send Zim to Earth to get rid of him, although they claim that it’s a “secret” mission. Upon arriving at Earth, Zim devises his ingenious disguise; a wig and a pair of blue contact lenses. He gives GIR (his robot slave) an ingenious disguise as well. In other words, GIR now wares a green dog suit wherever he goes. Zim has a tendency to scream much more than necessary. He usually screams either “I AM ZIM!” or “I AM NORMAL!” This is what he believes to be normal human behavior. Zim also has a bit of an obsession with ranting about his normality as a ‘human worm baby’ and for his ‘love’ for Earth. Although his disguise is crappy and although he acts nothing like a “human worm baby”, nobody seems to Notice that he’s an alien. Except for Dib, but we’ll get to Dib later. Zim is voiced by Richard Horvitz, but was originally going to be voiced by Billy West.

GIR

America loves GIR. No, really. They do. GIR is easily the most popular Invader Zim character and he has thousands of adoring fans. But, why wouldn’t he? Just lookit him! He’s adorable! Oh, anyways, GIR is Zims robot slave. In an interview, Eric Trueheart stated that GIR was made by some old robot parts and a slurpie machine. And, quiet frankly, it’s pretty obvious. Although GIR looks like a normal robot, he doesn’t act like one. GIR is hyperactive, idiotic, Happy-go-lucky and half the time, doesn’t understand anything that’s going on. Nevermind, he NEVER knows what’s going on. GIR loves piggies, mooses, tacos, taquitos, snack food, going insane, Zim, Gaz, cows, and seems to also enjoy human culture. His eyes are Cyan and his body is grey. When he’s in his disguise, he looks like a “perfectly normal” green dog with buggy eyes and black ears. Jhonen Vasquez stated in the commentary for the episode “Invasion of the Idiot Dog Brain” that he got a noble peace prize for uniting the world with GIR. He used the money from the prize to buy a cabin entirely made out of Pez candy. Jhonen is crazy.

Gaz

Gaz is Dibs scary younger sister. She has purplish-pinkish hair and wears a black dress and a skull necklace. She hates Dib, but loves piggies, video games, pizza and Zim. Okay, she doesn't actually love Zim. But she should. Gaz seems to have an amazing understanding of video games and electronics. On various occasions, Gaz has ended up saving the Earth, or Dib, from certain DOOM even though she would much rather plays video games. Yup, Gaz would much rather just sit around, play video games, and eat pizza. She doesn't care if Dib is dead or not. But, I think that she does! I think, that deep down inside, she loves him. But that's just a stupid fans opinion. Gaz seems to have the strength to beat up anyone....Including Dib. She's kinda creepy. Gaz is voice by Melissa Fahn.

Dib

The dib monkey!!!!! Yes, Dib monkey. Well, that’s what Zim calls him at least. Dib is a kid in Zims class and he is the only person who notices or cares that Zim is an alien. He is obsessive about exposing Zim as the ‘alien scum’ that he is. He’s also obsessed with anything paranormal. Such as, Bigfoot, yetis, haunted gummy bears, ghosts, spells, Yetis (yetis are cool), Vampires, and especially ALIENS! He is constantly being ridiculed by his classmates, and just about everyone else, about how crazy he is. Even his own father calls him insane. However, his sister, Gaz seems to know about Zims alien origins as well. But the problem is, she really doesn’t care. Zim is aware that Dib knows about his spooky alien origins and they are mortal enemies. Dibs head is INSANELY huge! I mean, just look at it! Good lord! JUST LOOK AT IT!!! But anyways, the show has a running joke about the size of Dibs head. Everyone talks about how huge his head is. Even though everyone else in the show has heads the same size. In fact, some heads are even bigger. Poor Dib monkey. Dib is voiced by Andy Berman

Tak

Remember how I said that Gaz hates Dib? Well, take that hatred and multiply it by about ten million. Now direct the hatred towards Zim, and you’ve got Tak. Tak was going to become an Irken invader and she had been training to do so for years. But, Zim ruined it by accidentally blowing up half the planet she was on. Tak survived the explosion, but got trapped under some debris. However, the training continued on the other side of the planet. So, Tak failed to complete the Invader evaluation in time and she failed. She was then banished, and put on janitorial duty on plant DIRT for 70 years. However, she escaped and began her search for Zim. After 50 years, Tak finally found Zim and destroyed his base. After that, she began to hollow out the Earth so that she could fill it with candy as an offering for the Tallest. Changing the subject, Dib developed a crush on Tak and offered her some chocolates. That was before he found out about her horrible plan and because of this plan, they couldn’t be together. Bu they should’ve been!!! Anyways, at the end of the Tak episode, Earth is saved by Gaz and Tak flies away in an escape pod. Her broken down ship, however, crashes into Dibs backyard . Tak is voiced by Olivia D’abo.

Skoodge

Foolish gullible Skoodge. Yes indeed, Skoodge is very gullible. Not to mention, he’s short, and if you’re an Irken, short is the LAST thing you want to be. Invader Skoodge is hated by most Irkens because he is ugly. But he’s actually very cute! But in Irken terms, he’s ugly. The Almighty Tallest hate Skoodge because of his short ugliness and they killed him three times. But he’s okay now. Skoodge was created to be the most unkept invader. He is short, ugly, and has stains on his shirt. I wish a had a pet Skoodge!!!

Professor Membrane!

And now it’s time for “Probing the Membrane of Science” with Professor Membrane! Prof. Membrane is the father of Dib and Gaz and he’s also the host of the hit Tv show “probing the Membrane of Science”. Not to mention, without him, the world would fall into UTTER CHAOS! Yes, Membrane is probably the single most intelligent human in all of Invader Zim. And, if this makes any sense at all, he’s intelligent…but not smart. By that, I mean that he fails to notice Zims alien-ness. He seems to think that when Dib says “HE’S AN ALIEN!” he actually means “HE’S FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY!”. Membrane is a very irresponsible father. He’s not at home half the time, and when he is, he just calls Dib and Gaz “son” or “daughter”. It’s as if he doesn’t even know their names. Jhonen has stated that Membrane actually created Dib and Gaz in a laboratory. Membrane is voiced by Roger Bumpass.

The Almighty Tallest

On Irk, rank is determined by height. Therefore, the tallest Irken would be the ruler of the entire race. However, it turned out that two Irkens were taller than the rest, but they were the same height. And that is how Tallest Red and Tallest Purple came to rule.

Almighty Tallest Red

Red loves snack. Seriously. He’s always seen eating snacks. ALWAYS. Red is slightly more intelligent than his co-leader, purple and he is actually able to pilot the Massive (their space ship) Red hates Zim and it was his idea to banish-er…send Zim to Earth. His original idea to make him go away was to give him a sandwich and kindly ask him to leave. Red is voiced by Wally Wingert, but was originally going to be voiced by Kevin McDonald.

Almighty Tallest Purple

Is basically just like Red. Except stupider. And purple. Yeah. Purple is voice by Kevin Mcdonald, but was originally going to be voiced by Wally Wingert.

	The Resisty The Irken Empire has been conquering planets for years and it is getting close to Galactic conquest. In order to stop the Irkens from destroying the beautifully hideous galaxy, The Resisty was created. They aren’t very effective, but they try. They try so hard. In the episode “The Fry cook what came from All That Space”, members of the Resisty can be seen eating in the fast food restaurant, “Shloogorghs”. The only episode that The Resisty appeared in was "Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars", but they were also supposed to appear in another episode, stranded on the planet "Meekrob".
	Lard Nar Lard Nar is the leader of the Resisty and he helped construct the ship that they use. Lard Nar is grey with white horns things, But since he’s a Vortian, that makes sense. Lard Nar spazes out sometimes, but most of the time he’s calm and composed. He was the one who directed the first act against the Irken empire. In other words, he helped the rest of the crew members steal the Massive’s snack supply. Lard Nar wears a small mask to hide his identity. It doesn’t work that well, but at least he tries. Lard Nar is voiced by Fred Tatasciore.
	Shloonktapooxis Second in command and in charge of firing the laser weapon, Shloonktapooxis is an important member of the Resisty. Shloonktapooxis resembles nothing more than a purple cone with a curled antenna and a face. He is slightly like GIR, but seems to understand the situation more than GIR does. His suggestion for the Resistys name was “The Pirate Monkeys”. Sadly, the name was not used. His own name is a parody of the Unpronounceable names that are sometimes found in Sci-fi shows.
	Spleenk Spleenk is an incredibly stupid member of the Resisty and he is full of bad ideas. It was his idea to attack the most powerful ship in the galaxy, The Massive, and he also came up with the name “The Resisty” which Lard Nar uses for some reason. When Spleenk get scared, he falls to the ground and begins to twitch insanely, much like a seizure.
