Hockey

Mario Lemuiex was the best hockey player to ever play the game in my opinion. Lemuiex’s tactics on the ice were like no other player’s. With Mario’s soft hands, great skating ability, and incredible shot he was a real force to be reckon with. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease later in his career but soon after started to play again. Mario continued playing with the authority he played with before the diagnosis. Mario Lemuiex finished among the top of the all time in scorers with 690 goals, 1033 assists, and 1723 total points.

Wayne “The Great One” Gretzky is also considered the best player ever. Gretzky had an unbelievable ability to anticipate where the play would be. In his 18 year career he scored a total of 862 goals and 1843 assists for a total of 2705 points. He continues to be involved with the National Hockey League to this day by coaching the Phoenix Coyotes

Mark Messier was a special kind of player. He had strength, speed, and hands, three qualities that make a player great. Messier was a team leader on whatever team he played on because his unselfish play. If Scientists wanted to make a perfectly well balanced player, I think they would come up with someone almost identical to Mark Messier. Messier finished his career with 694 goals, 1193 assists, and 1887 combined points.

Most defensemen in the game of hockey aren’t big goal scorers bit one man that was, was Paul Coffey. Coffey was a phenomenal skater with lighting fast speed for a defenseman. An interesting fact about Coffey was that he wore his skates a couple sizes too small and filled them with peanut butter. The peanut butter was for absorbing blocked shots. In his career Coffey scored an amazing 396 goals and 1135 assists for a total of 1531 points.  It’s safe to say that Paul Coffey was one of the best offensive defenseman of all time.

Joe Sakic is one of the best players that is still currently in the NHL. He has great vision on the ice and is a brilliant passer. He remains to always be one of the top point scorers in the NHL every year. He currently has a total of 600 goals and 961 assists for a total of 1561 points. Despite his small build he continues to be a phenomenal player and essential teammate in the National Hockey League.

Goalies in hockey are often the back bone of a team. One man that is, is Martin Broduer. Broduer is currently playing but is thought of as one of the best goalies to ever play. He is one of the most important players on the New Jersey Devils and helps them win many games. Martin Broduer always maintains a high save percentage and a very low goals against average each season. It is often said you are only as good as your goalie and with out Broduer who knows how the Devils would perform.
