Jumps and hurdles are two of the things in track that use a lot of leg muscle.  They consist of high jumps, long jumps, and many other jumps.  There are a lot of techniques to learn while using hurdles and doing jumps.  They are hard.  If you practice jumps and hurdles then you will definitely get better at them and you will improve.  If you keep reading then you will find out some things such as how to do hurdles and jumps.

When you are doing hurdles you should try to keep a smooth, continuous sprinting action.  It should only be slightly interrupted when you jump over the hurdle.  You have to figure out the number of strides between the start of the race and the first hurdle.  That way when you are ready to jump over the hurdle you will jump over with the right leg and you will not struggle.  This will help you achieve a good hurdling rhythm and it will also help you determine the number of strides to take between the rest of the hurdles.  If you do this then it will help you to improve and get faster.

In the High Jump it is important to land on the material.  The jump has four stages.  The four stages are the approach run, the takeoff, clearing the bar, and landing.  When you are jumping you want to aim for the middle of the bar.  The middle part of the bar is the lowest part of the bar.

In the long jump you leap for distance.  It requires lightning speed in the approach.  If you don’t run fast enough down the runway you want to go fast after you hit the takeoff board.  You also need to be able to leap.  You have to get in the air high enough to fly far enough.
