The MLB is made up of two leagues, the American and the National League. There are 30 teams which are separated into 6 divisions, 3 divisions in each league. After the 162 game season 8 of the 30 teams make the play-offs. Those 8 teams do battle to see who is crowned World Series Champion. The World Series has been around since 1903, leaving out the years 1904 and 1994. Throughout these 102 years a National League team has won 42 times and the American League has won 60 times. The next few pages will tell a little about the top hitters in both leagues.
