In my opinion the Labrador retriever is the best family pet. Labs love young kids, older kids, and adults. They like to meet new people and spend time with their family. Labradors like to be protective of their family and household. Some other things about Labs are that they have great physical characteristics, an excellent personality, and they can be guide and rescue dogs.

            Some physical characteristics of a Labrador retriever are that they come in multiple colors. The colors can be black, yellow, or chocolate. They can be 20-25 inches long. Labs are strong so they can pull heavy loads. They are active and energetic so they can play outside all day. Labrador retrievers are very healthy so they can play and work all day. Those are some of the physical characteristics a Labrador retriever has.

            The personality of a Lab is friendly and kind. They are very easy to train. Labradors need plenty of exercise and attention. They have a lot of energy to learn and have fun. Labs love to swim so if you love to go to a lake bring your Lab. Labradors are good yard dogs which means they are playful.

            Labradors can also be good rescue and guide dogs. Sometimes they can go to hospitals and visit patients. The dog has to be calm and well-trained. Labrador retrievers can also lead blind people to where they want to go. These dogs are so muscular they can pull wheelchairs around. They can also listen if anything is coming for a deaf person. Those are some of the reasons Labs can be rescue and guide dogs.
