Street style skateboarders come in many different shapes, sizes, and ages. They all love to be outside and active. They are athletic, with balance, good control of their bodies, and quick reactions. They are always looking to have fun and learn new things. All skateboarders need to have patients.

 

 

Street skaters usually skate anything that has pavement or concrete. Things like driveways, sidewalks, school yards, parking lots and other paved surfaces. The surfaces can be flat, curved, smooth, or rough. They can run along the top of a wall or slope up a bank. However complicated the surface is street skaters can get over it.

 

 

 

 

 

Staying in control is one of the most important in street style skateboarding. Being in balance and carving back and forth across the pavement keeps you in control. If your moving fast in a straight line, especially downhill, your probably out of control. You can judge by how fast your going if you are going to get out of control or not. To be a good skater you also have to judge things like changing light and visibility, how well your skateboard is gripping the surface, the movements of people and vehicles, and the height of drops.

 

 

Good moves are hard to accomplish. That’s why first you must learn basic moves and slowly progress. One basic move or trick that is easy, fun and helps you become a better skateboarder is a manual and nose manual. To do this you must lean back and balance on the back wheels. For a nose manual you must lean forward and balance on your front wheels. A couple other basic tricks are a kickflip, heelflip, pop shuvit, and a 180.

 

 

Broken bones, pulled muscles, damaged tendons, and bloody scrapes can happen anytime. Skateboarding is a very dangerous sport. You can be seriously and permanently injured while skateboarding. All skateboarding while skating street. Not only by falling though, you also have to watch out for motorcycles, cars, trucks, and buses. Skating in a safe environment is the best way to skate street.
