The 05 Pittsburgh Steelers offense had a great group of athletes but two names that stuck out were Hines Ward and Ben Roethlisberger. Names like Willy Parker, Alan Faneca, Heath Miller, Jerome Bettis, and Jeff Hartings. Our Offense was also one of the top teams in the league putting up a total of 389 points last year. The Steelers could relay on their dominate run game or go to the air feeling pretty confident only throwing 7 interceptions all season. The Offense lead the Steelers to the super blow and making Big Ben the youngest quarterback ever to win a super bowl.

Alan Faneca, Jeff Hartings, Marvel Smith, Willy Parker, Jerome Bettis, Ben Roethlisberger, Heath Miller, and Hines Ward led the Pittsburgh offense to super bowl 40. The Steelers offence was ranked 16th in the NFL but was ranked 1st in rushing attempts and average yards per pass. Ben Roethlisberger pass percentage was 62.7 and he threw 2,385 yards, 17 touchdowns, and only 9 interceptions. Willy parker rushed for 1,202 yards, and averaged 4.7 yards per carry. Jerome Bettis rushed for 368 yards, 9 touchdowns, and averaged 3.3 yards per carry. Alan Faneca, Jeff Hartings, and Marvel Smith blocked for the Steelers and could take on just about any one and gave Big Ben all the time that he needed. Heath Miller a rookie in the NFL was a great addition to the Pittsburgh offence not only for catching the ball and getting in the end zone but also for blocking and giving Big Ben more time to throw the ball. Lastly, Hines Ward led the Steelers in receptions and had 975, averaged 14.1yards per catch, and had 11 touchdowns. Pittsburgh’s offence might not have been one of the topped ranked teams in the NFL but they definitely had the youngest talent in the league.

The Steelers receivers and tight ends had a total of 20 touchdowns and was ranked 15th in scoring. The receivers and tight ends included Hines Ward, Antwaan Randel El, and Heath Miller. The Pittsburgh receivers were fast, strong, great rout runners, and were excellent blockers. Hines Ward is the best blocking receiver in the league, Antwaan is on of the fastest and is the best at running trick plays, and Heath Miller is the best rookie tight end in the league and he can do just about anything you tell him to. Cornerbacks and safety’s fear all three of these players and they never under estimate them.

Jerome Bettis number 36 for the Pittsburgh Steelers is one of the best running back that ever lived. Jerome Bettis the Bus was ranked 5th on the all-time rushing list with a total of 13,622 and 91 touchdowns. The bus played in 13 NFL seasons just looking for a super bowl ring and he got that ring in his 13th season and retired at the end of super bowl 40. Young running backs and young kids all look up to Jerome and he left putting thousands of smiles on people’s faces all around the world. The bus will always be remembered as a football player, a great friend and family member, and a hero.

Ben Roethlisberger is the youngest quarterback ever to win a super bowl and had the most wins for a rookie quarterback in his rookie season. In two seasons he led his team to the playoffs twice and won a super bowl in his second season. Completing 168 out 268 passes making his percentage 62.7 made his quarterback rating go way up. Ben also help the team on his shoulders all through the playoffs and he picked the team up when they were down to bet four of the best teams in the NFL and surprise the world when he led them to a victory in super bowl 40.
