Evgeni Malkin
turned out to be one of the best players in the league during his rookie
season. In his first six games he has scored seven goals. He was drafted
by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2004 draft 2nd overall. He
didn’t play on the team last season because he played in Russia. He
missed the first six games of the season because of a dislocated
shoulder. He currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins. |

05-06 season, Alexander Ovechkin has been one of the best players in the
league. In the 05-06 season he won the Calder Memorial trophy which is
the rookie of the year. In that campaign, he amassed over 100 points. He
was drafted by the Washington Capitals 1st overall in the
2004 draft. He is on the cover of the newest NHL video game NHL 07. He
currently plays on the Washington Capitals.

Sidney Crosby
will be great for the Pittsburgh Penguins for years to come. He was the
first overall pick in the 2005 draft. During his rookie season he also
amassed over 100 points but lost to Alexander Ovechkin for rookie of the
year. He was the youngest person to get 100 points at the age 18. He
currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins. |

Eric Staal has
been in the league for only a few years and has played good so far in
his career. He was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2003 draft
2nd overall. His younger brother Jordan, was drafted by the
Pittsburgh Penguins 2nd overall in the 2006 draft. In the
05-06 season the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup. He currently plays for
the Carolina Hurricanes.

Jaromir Jagr
has been one of the best players in the league for years and still is
one of the best. He was on the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals,
and the New York Rangers. He currently plays on the New York Rangers. In
the 05-06 season, he won the Lester B. Pearson Award which is the most
outstanding player. He also is the captain of the New York Rangers.

Martin Brodeur
is one of the best goalies in the league. He has won many awards
including the William B. Jennings award in 02-03 and 03-04 which is the
goalie with the fewest goals scored against. He also won the Veniza
Trophy in 02-03 and 03-04 which is the goalie of the year. He currently
plays on the New Jersey Devils. |
