Light and medium weight aircrafts are the two smallest types of aircraft. They are more commonly privately owned. Light weight aircrafts cannot hold many people. They’re capacity is commonly two to eight people. Medium weight aircrafts are more commonly owned privately by companies, or bought and chartered.

Medium weight aircrafts are made more for luxury. They are still very expensive but, not nearly as expensive as a jumbo jet.   They usually can cost from about 5 million or less to anything above that depending on the features added. These jets are more commonly owned by celebrities, businesses, or the wealthy.

Medium weight aircrafts can fit from about five to twenty or thirty people.  They most commonly have two engines and occasionally three.  It takes about one to people to pilot   Gulfstream and Cessna are two of the biggest manufacturers of medium and light weight airplanes.   These are some of the fastest aircrafts capable of being privately owned.  Owning one of these jets can turn into a very profitable business.  Even though they may be privately owned, the plane is probably not in use all day everyday.  So in the time that the plane is not being used by its owner or someone else; the owner charters it out to anyone who needs or wants a private airplane.

Light weight jets are more commonly seen privately owned.  These jets are usually owned for leisure or hobby.  Their price range can be from in the thousands to lower millions depending on the features added to it.  Cessna is known best for their lightweight airplanes.  These planes are not very commonly that big.  The flight deck is much smaller than that of a medium or heavy airplane.  It only takes one to two people to pilot one.

Light weight airplanes usually have one engine that is similar to a car’s in were it is and how it works, but is obviously much more powerful.  They very commonly have propellers on the nose of the aircraft or on the wings.  These planes cannot be elevated to much higher than ten thousand feet.  They also can’t travel as far as a larger jet, but have better fuel consumption ratings than a heavy or medium jet. 

This is a light weight airplane that can go both land and water and only fit one person.
