Whippets are very slender dogs. They are also very versatile. Whippets are swift racing dogs too. They love to go for walks and runs with their owners. They can reach speeds up to 35 miles per hour. They are also known for hunting, and chasing small animals. They can be easily trained not to run away though. They also make great show dogs and companions. |

Whippets like most other dogs should be bathed whenever needed. They bath water should be luke warm because they get cold very easily with their short coats. You also don’t want it to be to hot for them. Bathing them a lot is not a good thing because they have oils in their fur that doesn’t allow water in or makes the fur water proof. Bathing them to much can make their skin very dry. They have little sweat glands so they get dried out very easily. Putting glycerin in the bath before hey get in can make their coat shiny for when they get out. |

Whippets are very friendly and affectionate dogs. They are good family pets because they are good with small kids and they are very relaxed. Whippets are very well mannered and are usually considered quiet dogs. They are easily trained to not go to the bathroom in the house, chew on things, or leave the yard. They listen very well and for the most part are they are clean. They are also very good watch dogs because of their alertness.
