| When a radio station, WCPR, in Biloxi, Mississippi began getting phone calls for a song by a local band from Escatawpa, staff members thought it was the groups family and friends. But then, the number of phone calls exploded. The song was “Kryptonite” and the group was 3 Doors Down, a rock band whose beefy sound and explosive dynamics generate a high-impact of modern sonics and timeless rock conventions. The band’s debut album offers tight, finely-constructed music that is driven by an energy that is at the some time almost out of control and at others supremely focused. Music has always been in the crosshairs for the band. Longtime friends from Escatawpa, each of the musicians felt the call early. |
