Skiing can be very easy if you know what you’re doing. Here are some tips for skiing. The first most important rule of skiing is to never look back while learning. You always want to stay focused on where you’re going and what you doing. If you look back very bad things can occur. Some bad things that can happen if you look back is that you can run into light pole, now this might sound funny to you now but it is a very serious issue. Another bad thing that can happen is that you could run into another skier. Now this is very dangerous because now your life is in stake and the other skier. Also there could be a mound of snow, a jump, or wood and you wouldn’t know it was there this could cause serious injury or worse. |

Here is another tip, when learning how to ski be ready to fall. Leaning to ski hurts more then learning to snow boarding because when you fall on skies you usually will tumble, unlike snowboarding when you will fall on your butt or chest. |

When skiing never cross your skies! If you cross your skies you will loose control and fall. Most beginner skiers don’t know the seriousness of crossing their skies. You could loose control of where you are going. You could crash into another skier or snowboarder, or ski into an unmarked zone.

Here is some advice. If you want to live another day I would advise you to never ski with you eyes shut. This is one of the most common reasons for beginner crashes. Skiers go out of control, get scared and close their eyes. If you are ever out of control, can’t stop, and are very scared. Do not shut your eyes all you need to do is slowly reach toward the higher part of the mountain so you can reach then slide on your chest until you stop.

How to stop, stopping on skies is very similar to stopping on ice skates. Stopping is very important and every skier must learn how to do it. Stopping is also similar to the carve we will talk about. You shift your body the opposite direction your going, you push your hips diagonally toward the ground. This will take time and practice to learn.

How you make a cut. To make a cut you must start the slope off in control. What you do is once you enter the slope enter it using a cut. To use a cut you must turn your whole body the opposite way of where you are going. You have to push your hips down diagonally opposite of the way you want to go. Just like snowboarding you carve while making your cut so its almost as if its turning itself.
