He went to the Homerun Derby and hit nine homeruns. Another great veteran from the past is Sammy Sosa. He has been on a slump ever since he was traded from the Cubs. Their club isn’t all veterans, they have excellent prospects in the minors.

In 2005, the White Sox won the World Series. They had a lot of help off Juan Uribe, Mark Buerle, and Jim Thome. In 2006, Jim Thome had twenty-four pinch-hit homeruns. He used to play for the Phillies but was injured and he quit. He felt better and joined the White Sox. He and Mark Buerle played in the all-stargame at Pittsburgh.

They were outstanding with their new coach, Jim Leyland, who was the Pirates coach in the ‘90s. The Tigers blew throughout the playoffs but lost at the end of the season.
